From June to September 2026, Cordi Jesu’s Markaz Comboni was
not only a place of encounter and meeting, but also a place of sharing
knowledge and having other experiences. It was a space opened for our
youth to learn something different, and became a space for all ages and
all religions.

We organized summer activities for the youth and all the
persons of good will, therefore, we welcomed some Muslim youth who
were interested by the courses.

With the help of our scholastics (dc.
Meshack Kasoro and Isidore Ogou), the youth of Cordi Jesu chaplaincy
and a volunteer of l’Oeuvre d’Orient from France (Pierre Campion), we
provided language, music and computer classes to more than thirty
people, coming from Helwan, Ain Shams, Faisal, Sakakini, Zamalek…

They came mainly to learn French, English, Spanish, and also a bit of
Egyptian Arabic (for the youth of the university students chaplaincy). In
what the music is concerned, we provided guitar, piano, drums and
violin classes. On top of it all, we also had computer classes(introduction
to Word, Power-Point, Excel, Access, etc.).

Besides these activities, and with the support of some benefactors,
we were able to give some First Aid classes for the Sudanese youth of
Cordi Jesu and the Eritrean youth of Zamalek; they were around 50
persons. This year, the holydays in Cordi Jesu were full of activities and
participation of the youth. We thank all the teacher and all those who
helped to make it possible. At the end of the courses, the participants
received a certificate of appreciation. The participants were very happy
and went with the will to resume next year.
