After almost three years, the communities are going back little by little to Khartoum and to the towns around. Some school opened their doors to the students. Therefore, the Comboni Missionaries are accompanying the people in order to give them hope and give them a place to pray, to celebrate sacraments, brief, to celebrate life. The communities of Bahri, Masalma and Ondurman have celebrated the Eucharist, after more than two years.
So, in the parish of St. Josephine Bakhita Fr. Youssif and all the all the Christian community have celebrated their cultural day. “They followed the method of Br. Sergio in making people study their tribal languages, know their tribes, cultural heritage, appreciating them and being identified with them. Faith should be rooted in the culture”.
Fr. Youssif, mccj. It is true that a lot of people leave Sudan, but there is still a lot of people there. As the will of Saint Daniel Comboni was to go to the center of Africa, the Comboni missionaries would like to make present love of God in Khartoum. In all the above-mentioned communities, we have only two Comboni missionaries who are serving there.
